AUCTION INFORMATION
Registration & Bidding Requirements All bidders must register prior to participating in the auction. Registration requires valid government-issued photo identification and completion of bidder information forms. Bidder numbers will be assigned upon successful registration. Online bidders must register through our approved platform and agree to all digital bidding terms.
Bidding Process Bidding increments will be announced by the auctioneer and may vary by lot value. The auctioneer reserves the right to regulate bidding increments. All bids are per lot unless otherwise specified. The highest acknowledged bidder at the fall of the hammer shall be the purchaser.
Reserve Rights Some lots may be subject to reserve prices. Reserved lots will be clearly identified in the catalog. The auctioneer may bid on behalf of consignors up to the reserve amount. Burgess Auctions reserves the right to withdraw any lot before or during the sale.
PAYMENT & COLLECTION
Payment Terms Full payment is due immediately following the auction. Acceptable forms of payment include cash, certified check, money order, or credit card. Personal checks accepted with proper identification and bank verification. All items must be paid within 2 business days.
Buyer's Premium A buyer's premium of 10% will be added to the hammer price of each lot. This premium is subject to applicable sales tax. A discount of 3% will be given for cash or the equivalent
Collection Schedule Purchased lots must be collected within 5 business days following the auction. Items not collected within this timeframe may be subject to storage fees of $5.00 per day per lot.
CONDITION & AUTHENTICITY
Coin Grading & Descriptions All coins have been examined and described to the best of our ability. Grading follows industry-standard practices, but buyers are encouraged to examine lots during preview periods. Third-party grading service certifications, where present, are noted in lot descriptions.
CONSIGNMENT POLICIES
Consignment Agreement Items accepted for consignment are subject to our standard consignment agreement. Commission rates vary based on lot value and quantity. Consignors retain ownership until sale completion.
LEGAL PROVISIONS
Title & Risk Transfer Title to purchased lots transfers upon full payment. Risk of loss transfers upon collection or after the collection period expires, whichever occurs first.
Limitation of Liability Burgess Auctions' liability is limited to the purchase price plus buyer's premium. We are not responsible for errors in catalog descriptions, bidding mistakes, or consequential damages.
Force Majeure Burgess Auctions reserves the right to postpone or cancel the auction due to circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to natural disasters, government restrictions, or facility emergencies.
